Leveraging the Power of Disruptive Technologies for Africa’s Educational Transformation

Background and Rationale

Africa stands at a pivotal moment in its educational journey, as disruptive technologies redefine the landscape of teaching and learning across the continent. The rapid adoption of digital platforms, is enabling African institutions to transcend traditional barriers. However, the continent also faces unique challenges, including disparities in connectivity, limited resources, and the need for contextually relevant solutions. By leveraging Moodle and other disruptive technologies, African educators, policymakers, and technologists can collaboratively build resilient digital ecosystems that foster equity, drive workforce readiness, and ensure data security and sovereignty. This conference provides a timely platform for the pan-African education community to share experiences, showcase innovations, and develop strategies for harnessing disruptive technologies—anchored by Moodle—to transform education. Through dialogue, capacity building, and partnership, the event aims to accelerate Africa’s educational transformation in alignment with continental development goals and the demands of the 21st-century economy.
